The role of responsible AI in fair hiring
Not all AI works the same way. Much of the concern about AI in hiring stems from systems that infer capability from historical data such as CVs, job titles or past hiring decisions.
This report examines an alternative approach: measurement-based AI. Rather than predicting capability from proxies, these systems assess candidates directly through structured, job-relevant interviews. When designed responsibly, they allow organisations to standardise evaluation, reduce subjective noise and generate measurable fairness data across the hiring journey.
